All, We completed active shooter/threat training for all sworn employees over three separate training days. The scenario-based training used our civilian volunteers as role players.
Officer JT Thompson was promoted to Corporal.
We completed planning for the July 4 Holiday and we anticipated a busy weekend.
We had four sworn vacancies, with one officer starting in mid July. We have four viable candidates that we are currently processing. We completed our first one-day processing event to get these candidates hired quickly before we lose them to other agencies. We received great feedback from all involved and we will continue to refine the process. It is estimated that the process will be cut from three to four months to just one month. Only a few agencies are doing this and we continue to discover new and innovative ways to recruit and retain new employees without sacrificing quality during the process.
All COJB departments and City of Jacksonville first responders conducted an in-depth hurricane exercise.
The new SUVs we ordered eights months ago are beginning to arrive. They will be displayed during the upcoming budget showcase at City Hall.
