There appears to be a serial pelican/bird abuser at the Beaches. According to B E.A K.S. there have been 10+ injured pelicans brought to their rehab facility in as many days. Stay tuned for more info.

Some indications are this is caused by shrimp fishermen who grab them while they are trying to catch shrimp around the boats and break their wings so they can’t fly. The pelicans can then only float in to shore. If the break is too severe the pelicans cannot be rehabilitated. So you might want to look into that.
