On July 19th 2023, Neptune Beach Police responded to an in-progress occupied residential burglary in the 600 block of Florida Blvd. Antonio Dante Grant, a 36-year-old transient male who was just released from prison after committing an attempted forcible sexual battery in 2018 in Jacksonville Beach, broke into an elderly couples’ home after forcing open the rear door.
What Grant did not foresee is that the homeowner had armed himself with his firearm and held him at gunpoint until NBPD officers quickly responded and placed him under arrest. Grant was charged with a 2nd degree forcible felony for burglary and placed back in jail.
