The American Red Cross lettering and iconic red cross symbol will be removed from the lifeguard station in Jacksonville Beach. Along with the visual removal, The historic volunteer lifeguard program that was locked out of the building will no longer bevin operation. This is in reference to painting over the iconic red cross and volunteer text on the historic lifeguard station.
Why would Volunteer Life Saving Corps (VLSC) paint over the Red Cross logo and text on a building they don't own? The City of Jacksonville Beach's (COJB) position was that the volunteers did not belong there and even locked them out. Clear as mud.
