"Jax Beach Height Limit Ballot Referendum - 3 Questions, Zero Answers - Last night's Beaches Watch panel discussion drew a packed house of concerned citizens. None spoke in favor of increasing our 35' height limit. I asked our mayor 3 questions: Who will be our private partner in the planned public-private development partnership? What share of the cost will they bear, and what will the public pay? What percentage, or what number, of spaces in the proposed parking garage will be allocated and reserved for the public? Of course, because there ARE NO ANSWERS, we were served up a giant word-salad instead. NO SPECIFICS - that in return for punching a huge hole in our city charter height limit. Also, please remember that if this passes, further unknown changes can be made by a simple 4-3 vote of the council. Do you trust them enough to hand over that much authority? I know I do not. Please discuss this with your friends and neighbors, and PLEASE VOTE!"
