Search the internet and you may think otherwise, but the fact of the matter is there is no locally raised “organic” beef here in Florida.
Florida ranchers face a unique set of challenges due in part to the subtropical climate, making it more difficult (and costly) for them to meet the USDA organic standards and as a result, there is no organic beef produced in our state. Not to say there can't or won’t be in the future, but not at this time.
What about “natural” you say?
Unlike organic, no such certification program exists for beef that is labeled “natural.” By definition, the U.S. government considers “natural” all beef that does not require an ingredient label showing additives such as antibiotics, growth hormones and marinade.
Organic and natural are not the same thing.
